Julienne and JD met through a cute and interesting way - through JD’s sister, Sarah. In 2020, Sarah moved to Houston to help take care of their aunt and started attending the same church as Julienne. Both Sarah and Julienne became very close, having bible studies and starting a podcast together. A few months later, in the summer of 2021, JD followed Sarah to Houston. Julienne and JD met at that time, not knowing the story they would have. They would often be around each other due to spending time with Sarah. While he had just moved there, Julienne was getting ready to move back to Dallas for graduate school to get her Master’s in Social Work degree. However, after a few months living there, Julienne decided to move back home to complete her program online. Then one day, during a friendsgiving gathering with their youth group, JD and Julienne found themselves at a table talking all night. Sharing about their lives, their passions, and their experiences. That was the start of everything. They quickly found this comfort in each other, which made them feel safe and seen. This carried on as they found themselves easily confiding in one another, from seeking advice to venting about things weighing on their hearts. Around 2022, JD moved to California with Sarah as she was preparing for her wedding, and Julienne continued to stay in Houston. As they continued to have a friendship despite the distance, they both had a conversation about their feelings for one another. However, due to their current circumstances, it was not the right time. Fast forward to 2024: JD visited Houston with Sarah, her husband David, their baby, and Julienne spent that Sunday with them, along with her sister Jasmine. Julienne reached out after their visit, and they reconnected. After 4 years, they finally decided to make things official on January 5th, 2025. On April 4th, 2026, during a trip together with both their families in Monterey, California - JD asked Julienne the question to spend the rest of her life with him. To which she undoubtedly said yes! We are so so excited for the days ahead of us!
