I started a new job at the AT&T call center in Hoover, AL. Little did I know, not only was I starting a new job, I was about to meet my future husband. The trainer of my new hire class introduced us to the "top reps" in our department and we quickly learned that this group of "top reps" will be assisting with training. By the end of our five week training class, I had become well acquainted with JD and the other assisting reps. When we returned to work from the New Year holiday, there was a message in my work email inbox from Mr. Jarrid Coaxum himself. The message read, "Happy Belated Birthday". This came as a complete surprise because no one knew when my birthday was except for three individuals in the ENTIRE center, and that was HR, my manager, and one of the women in my class. Well of course, I replied thank you and the rest is history......
I planned a surprise getaway to Miami for his 30th birthday not knowing he was working on a surprise of his own. For our second night there, I made dinner reservations at one of the top rated Steakhouses on South Beach. The atmosphere in the restaurant was PERFECT. It was the ideal setting for a private and intimate dinner. Shortly after being seated, JD orders a very expensive bottle of wine with our appetizers. This was beyond strange for him to do, so I had a few objections. Spending that much money on wine that I didn't think we would even drink, was simply crazy to me. Our server brought our food and poured us a glass of wine. As we're eating, JD begins to tell me how he's been thinking about a previous conversation we had. (Well in this previous conversation, I asked JD was he tired of me and if I get on his nerves often.) So here I am trying to stay calm and enjoy my food because at this moment I'm thinking he is about to break up with me based on the tone of the conversation. I was three bites into my ceasar salad and he turns to me and say, "Well you know what, I am tired of you. I'm tired of you being my girlfriend". My face instantly turns red and I am about two seconds away from leaving the table BUT he pulls out a little red satin box. He then continues with, "I am tired of you being my girlfriend, I want you to be my WIFE". In utter shock, I sit and stare at him for God knows how long lol. Tears began to fall and I repeatedly say "OMG". The hostess, our server, and the restaurant manager all come over clapping and cheering with a bottle of champagne and then others in the restaurant begin to clap as well. Maybe after the tenth "OMG", I say YES!
