How We Met

#AndersonCooperlookalike, #Missingfronttooth, #Adultbraces

Where else, but at the gym! I remember seeing Franco from across the gym and he literally took my breath away. Those eyes and his hair...move over Anderson Cooper! Unfortunately, no one seemed to know him so there'd be no help from my friends. I quickly moved to the equipment closest to him to get a better view. I learned fast he was serious about his workouts, he never looked up or engaged in conversation with anyone around him. I began to question if he was gay or straight. That definitely was a problem, but the real issue was vanity! Just so happened that earlier in the day I had adult braces installed! Talk about poor timing! Not only did I have a mouth full of metal, but the ortho had also pulled a front bottom tooth. Needless to say, it wasn't a pretty sight. To overcome my insecurity it was going to take extreme courage and humility. I had to take a chance, because few have ever literally taken my breath away. After a deep breath, I just walked right up to him and said “You have the most beautiful blue eyes I think I have ever seen”. He looked up and at first said nothing, my heart began to race and it immediately made me think he was straight...but then he smiled and the rest is history!

The Proposal

#Likeafairytale #Thirdtimesthecharm

The first time (allegedly): In a hotel room in Venice. But where was the ring? The second time: At Green Papaya before going home for Christmas. The proposal starts, the box comes out....and the neighbors stop by for a long chat. They finally leave, Sydney (4 month) starts fussing, and JD says the most romantic words ever heard: "Well that f*&^ing sucked". "So will you marry me?" The third (and hopefully last) time: Last thanksgiving with the family gathered around. The proposal starts....and Sydney and her friend Harper choose that exact amount to share with everyone their new prayer. They take the floor, dance around in a circle and proceed to scream-sing their new prayer all while JD is trying to speak. JD may be loud...but he was simply no match for two focused four year-olds. Pictures suggest a proposal happened, but JD could have been reciting the Thanksgiving menu. Who knows.
