Jordan and Catherine matched on Hinge while he was home visiting family in Ft. Lauderdale in October of 2020. Catherine was living and working in Miami, Florida at the time. He soon told her that "Hinge messed up" because he had already returned to Ohio where he was completing his fellowship. Fortunately, they kept in touch and when he returned for Christmas break, he took her on their first date on December 26th, 2020. They went to Doraku Sushi for happy hour and then to see a "COVID-19 friendly" outdoor play on South beach. It was the coldest night in Miami and Jordan gave her the sweater off of his back to keep her warm. After the play was over, neither of them wanted the night to end, so they kept finding things to do including stopping by a few of Catherine’s favorite spots: A fun bar (unfortunately closed from COVID), ate late night pizza by the slice, then had a 2 hour conversation in the car, and a first kiss that Catherine romantically described as “awkward” to Jordan's face, in real time. Nevertheless, the date lasted 8 hrs long in total and they both knew something was there. One month later, Catherine visited Jordan in Ohio and they spent a beautiful weekend together. Once again, not wanting their time together to end, she extended the trip by 2 days. Their amazing weekend concluded by Catherine totaling his car the night before returning home to Miami! Catherine thought Jordan would call it quits after this but the two continued their long distance affair between Miami, & Ohio for 2 more years. The distance only brought them closer and ensured they made the most of their time together. Through exploring Miami/Columbus, traveling across the United States and Europe and meeting each others friends and families, they realized they had a forever kind of love! Upon completion of his Fellowship at Ohio State University, Jordan accepted a job in New Orleans, Louisiana, Catherine's home state. In October 2022 they relocated to New Orleans together, and Jordan asked for Catherine's hand in marriage, surrounded by family and close friends on March 30th of 2023.
