Spring of 2008, Jolene & Chad became teammates on California State Long Beach’s, PAC Modern Dance Team . After 3 years of being great friends everyone kept telling them they would be SO GOOD together, but they didn't see each other like that, not in the slightest bit. January of 2011, Chad and Jolene started hanging out a lot more. Like, a lot more. You know, studying together which led to study breaks, which meant having to get food together, then watching movies afterwards to reward themselves after a hard days work. The usual kind of friend things to do that may or may not lead on to other things. July of 2011, Jolene asked “what are we?” Right after Chad came home from a tour in Australia which included a whole bunch of groupies tracking his and his teammates every movements. At that moment Chad confirmed that he had feelings for Jolene. November 24, 2011 (Thanksgiving Day) - Chad asked Jolene to be his girlfriend. 2012 - 2018 Filled with a stupendous amount of joyful times and friends and family asking when they're going to get married. May 16, 2018 - June 9, 2019 , Chad moves to China for 1 year to save for Jolene's ring and wedding while she stays back in the USA using her Kappa Psi Epsilon sorority motto "Find your inner strength." Yay long distance relationship...ain't no biggie. May 11, 2019 - Chad secretly comes home for a week to propose to Jolene. 2019 - October 29, 2021 - Wedding planning for a very long time (because of covid 19) hooray!

At the time, Chad was still living in China for work as he messaged a few friends back home in Los Angeles. (Friends in group text) "Wait, what is this group message?" "Chad, what are you doing?" "Hold on, why isn't a certain someone in this group chat?" "OMG OMG OMG IS THIS WHAT I THINK IT IS?" Chad proceeded to let the group know that he got a ring custom made and it just so happen to arrive early. Instead of waiting until he moved back home to propose (which would be way more expected from Jolene). One of Chad's colleagues brought up the idea, "Dude! You should totally just go home and do it now!! She would never expect it!" (Eli Sweet, your last name precedes you) May 8, 2019 - Chad tells Jolene that he will be in Japan for 2 weeks for work. He was already in Los Angeles staying at his friend's apartment where the actual proposal surprise would take place. SATURDAY MAY 11, 2019 "THE PROPOSAL" Jolene went on a morning run with her best friends (who already knew the plan) and then proceeded to get their nails done afterwards. To get Jolene to where Chad was, a plan was devised for Jolene to drop off her camera at the apartment because it was going to be used for a "Video/Photo shoot" the next morning . LUCKILY, Jolene's best friends were bringing her to a bar that was right downstairs of the apartment. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! Jolene went up to the apartment to drop off the camera but actually walked in on a KINJAZ / VIBRVNCY meeting with Chad on facetime on the TV. Jolene (who already had a few drinks in her) shouts at the TV, "HEY YOU! YOU'RE IN JAPAN!!" Everyone laughs, and then Chad comes sneaking out of the bedroom behind them still facetiming and grabs Jolene into the frame. "Wait I am? Oh hey there, look it's you on my screen" - Chad Jolene takes a second to realize what just happened and freaks out as more friends come out of the bedroom. Chad gets down on one knee, "Will you marry me? Jolene with hands over face, "YES, I WILL!"
