Flight
The DC area has three major airports, Reagan (DCA), Dulles (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington (BWI). The Reagan airport is 10 minutes from Old Town Alexandria and the closest to Washington, DC. Reagan is on the metro line to Alexandria or easily accessible by taxi or UBER. Dulles Airport and BWI are each about 40 minutes away by car.
Train
The Amtrak train runs directly into Alexandria, VA (ALX), but it may be more convenient to take a train to Union Station (WAS), and take a car or metro to Alexandria. A taxi/UBER to Alexandria typically takes 15 minutes without traffic. Check schedules to ensure the easiest travel.
