In 2022, Ross decided to explore the solar scene in Houston for a month, and thank goodness he did, because it changed our lives forever when we matched on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. The app allows a short 24-hour window to connect with a potential match before they disappear, so we are certainly meant to be! After a 6-hour first date at a cozy wine bar (where we never ordered food because we couldn't stop talking long enough to look at the menu), closing down a restaurant on our second date, and wandering around Houston's Hermann Park on our third date, Ross put his heart on his sleeve before leaving Houston and asked Julie to keep in touch. Three months of weekly Facetimes later, Julie decided that Ross probably wasn't a serial killer (Jews aren't usually serial killers, after all!) and that she could safely meet him in NYC for a long weekend. After being reunited for only one day, we knew it was undeniable--we just had to be together! Almost exactly one year to the day after this special weekend in NYC, Ross proposed on the rooftop of the very same hotel where we decided to make our relationship official. Julie said yes (after regaining her ability to speak!), and the rest is history! Our creative spirit kept our long distance status tolerable for over two years--from watching Schitt's Creek, The Bear, Shrill, and Dave together on SharePlay to our inventive virtual cooking date nights on FaceTime, we never let distance hold us back from forming the strongest bond. Our countless travels and visits to each other, from Houston to Metuchen, all over the country, and even across the continent, have become our most cherished times.
