URGENT: Please let us know if you're going to stay at the venue with us! So far, the number of folks we have staying there is low, & if less people are going to be staying, then we have to adjust our reservation. Please text, call, or respond in the RSVP. Thank you!

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Bailey Rachelle Moss and Justin Edward Henry
Pictured above is the Ecological Staircase of Jug Handle Creek Farm & Nature Center that was cut by wave action over millennia as the sea level fluctuated and the land underwent tectonic uplift. Each terrace has been above water about 100,000 years longer than the level below it, and, therefore, each terrace contains a different plant community, with each level showing 100,000 years of progression through the stages. The first supports prairie, the second a redwood forest, and the third a unique pygmy forest of 5-to-10-foot-tall cypresses and pines potentially hundreds of years old. The Ecological Staircase is a 2.5-mile trail which travels along the staircase. According to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, "few places on earth display a more complete record of ecological succession." While marine terraces formed along much of the California coast, erosion has rendered them indistinct except in rare places like Jug Handle State Natural Reserve.

There's a beautiful series of trails you cna take through the Mendocino Botanical Gardens, and this time of year it should be just past the full bloom of Spring, so it should still have plenty of beautiful flowers on display. According to the website, during this time, these are the flowers that you'll see thriving there: rhododendrons, heritage roses, perennials, foxglove, cactus, succulents, lilies, heathers, coastal and forest wildflowers. You can also buy plants and other souvenirs in their guest shop!

Main Street Mendocino

Main Street Mendocino

Mendocino, CA

Main Street in the town of Mendocino is probably one of our most favorite and cherished places. From the local shops where you can buy a jacket or sweatshirt if you didn't prepare for the cold, to coffee & candy shops, to a few of the local eateries, to our favorite bar that we're not so quiet about - Dick's Place. This town holds a special place in our hearts, and we hope that some of you will take the time to head just a few miles down the road to enjoy a walk through the town; and if the walk-and-shop scene isn't quite for you, at the end of the main street are the Mendocino Headlands Bluff Trails sporting beautiful ocean views for miles. There's a chance, too, that you may even see a whale or two🐋🐳

A great stop for tasty pub food, and drinks in Mendocino! Justin recommends the coconut shrimp, and a Snakebite, if you're looking for any suggestions😉

Frankie's

Frankie's

Grab a quick slice of pizza, a whole pie (we recommend the Jug Handle...go figure😉), a scoop of ice cream, a local beer, or any combination of it all!

David's

David's

163 Boatyard Drive, Fort Bragg, CA 95437

If any morning that you're in town you wake up and decide you want some tasty diner-style breakfast, we highly recommend David's! From the strawberry waffle to the chicken enchilada omelette (yeah.. you read that right), we think you'll walk away satisfied! We just love the food and the folks at David's; is it a 5 star restaurant? No. This is a very local, Mom-and-Pop spot!

The Skunk Train

An activity we’ve unfortunately never done, but have always wanted to! The Skunk Train is essentially a train tour of Mendocino County and surrounding areas!🚂

Dick's Place

Our favorite watering hole 🍻🥂🍹
