What is Summer Formal?

Answer

Summer formal dress code for a wedding is similar to a formal dress code, but with the option of dressing in light and airy fabrics, and opting for lighter colors or pastels. FOR MEN: • A suit in any color and fabric your heart desires! (We recommend a lightweight fabric as it will be hot!) • Tie/Bowtie: Optional! We know it can be choking to have something around your neck in the heat, especially when your getting down on the dance floor! • Dress shoes in brown or black FOR WOMEN: • A floor-length or midi dress in lighter fabrics such as cotton, linen or chiffon • A lightweight jumpsuit, or dress pants paired with a light blazer • Any dress shoes (KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL BE WALKING ON GRASS AND COBBLESTONE) Above are guidelines, but at the end of the day we want all of our guests to be comfortable and wear whatever best puts them in the mood to celebrate and party with us! There’s no excuse for not being on the dance floor!

Question

I am attending the after party but not staying at Grand Cascades Lodge, where can I keep my change of clothes?

Answer

You can either keep a change of clothes in your car, or you can bring it with you and leave it at the coat check. You can use the main bathroom at the venue to change after the reception (it is nice and clean!).

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The wedding is called for 3:00pm to give everyone time to get into their seats before the ceremony begins. Arriving at the venue at 3:00 will be perfect for you to park the car, walk into the venue, grab a glass of lemonade or iced tea, and find your seats. That being said, the pre-ceremony Tisch, Bedecken, & Ketubah Signing will begin at 2:30/2:45

I have a food allergy/dietary restrictions, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know in your RSVP comments about any dietary restrictions (yes, even if there are a lot!). We are no strangers to the struggles of food allergies, which is why it is SO important to us that EVERYONE feel welcome and safe to eat at our wedding. For cocktail hour, we plan to either have all food labeled with applicable allergens/restrictions OR will provide a list of foods to avoid for each guest with restrictions prior to the wedding. For the reception food, we will reach out to you prior to the wedding to work out specific accommodations for whichever entree you would like. WE GOT YOU.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

HOT & HUMID! It's New Jersey in August so don't wear anything too heavy! The good news is there are plenty of pools to cool off in!

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes. Crystal Springs Clubhouse has free parking. The lot is not far from the front entrance, but you can also valet your car for $25 per car.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that no pictures be taken during the ceremony so that everyone can be fully present with us for this special moment, and so that our photographer can take completely unobstructed shots. Our absolutely amazing photographer, Miranda Suess, will be documenting every moment and we promise to share these photos with you all. Once the ceremony is over we invite you to take all the photos your heart desires!

Can I bring a physical gift to the wedding?

Answer

Your celebrating with us is the perfect gift, especially those of you traveling all the way across the country. However, should you wish to give a gift, we ask that you keep in mind that since our wedding is taking place in New Jersey, we will need to transport anything we receive at the wedding back to our home in San Francisco. In addition, we will be flying directly from New Jersey to our honeymoon, and returning from our honeymoon directly to San Francisco. Which means we must take everything along with us for the journey. Because of this, we are kindly asking that anything bigger than a card be shipped directly to our home in San Francisco at 1190 Mission Street Unit 1610, San Francisco CA 94103.

Is the after party mainly for the youngins?

Answer

Absolutely not! Our after-party is not a kids hang-by-the-bar event, it's a full-on wedding celebration that we hope EVERYONE will attend. Our reception ends at 9:30 PM on purpose, so even the early birds can join in on the fun. We want everyone to have a great time at the after-party, regardless of age.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we would love to say yes to everyone, we do have to adhere to a maximum headcount, and thus have to restrict the number of plus 1’s. If your invitation says “and Guest,” then you are welcome to bring a date. But if not, please plan to come just you. We promise you will have fun!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The resort itself is very kid-friendly as is the surrounding area. However for the ceremony and reception, we ask that you only bring the kiddos if they are mentioned on the invitation, or if it is addressed to “family”. AFTER PARTY: We HIGHLY recommend arranging for childcare during the afterparty if your kids are early to go to bed as you won’t want to miss it!

When should I book accomodations?

Answer

RIGHT NOW! If you are planning on staying at the Grand Cascades Lodge, you should book your room if you THINK you are coming. There are a limited number of total rooms at these resorts and they book up pretty fast, and far in advance, for the month of August. You will need to pay a deposit of one night's stay when you book, but you can cancel with a full refund up to 7 days before arrival. Make sure to call reservations and mention the Leafman-Soslow wedding block for discounted rates.

Do you expect me to come to the Tisch, Bedecken, and Ketubah signing?

Answer

The main wedding events begin with the wedding Ceremony. However, we are opening up these pre-ceremony events to anyone who would like the honor of attending, witnessing, and being a part of these meaningful moments.

Will I be able to get an Uber after the Biosphere Pool Party?

Answer

Unless you schedule the uber in advance, I would not rely on being able to order an uber after the Biosphere Pool Party due to the late hour.
