House Or Rental
We’re thrilled that Drumtochty Castle offers onsite accommodation in stable apartments and cottages for all guests at reasonable rates for one, two or three nights. All accommodation is within a short walk of the Castle, and we would love to have as many of you stay as possible to ensure we can make the most of our time together. The accommodation is largely organised in groups of six or four people (mainly apartments of two bedrooms or some one bedroom and a sofa bed). Prices will reflect these differences (up to £145 per couple per night). All accommodation has a kitchen and living area, and will be stocked with ingredients to make a full Scottish breakfast every morning, as well as other essentials. Pizza and cocktails will be served at the Castle on Friday night, and everyone is invited to a hog roast on Sunday afternoon, but please do feel free to stock your kitchen with any other food and drink you may want (including alcohol). See Food Travel Note for further details. The booking process will be managed and paid through the bride and groom, so please state how many nights you would like to stay when you RSVP (through the link at the top of this page) and we will get in touch with you directly by the end of February, to confirm your arrangements and organise the payment. Each room is equipped with towels, toiletries, a hair dryer as well as access to an iron and ironing board. Guests are welcome to arrive at Drumtochty Castle from 2pm on Friday 26th May. Latest check out is at 12pm on Monday 29th May. If you would prefer to organise your own accommodation, there are a few self-catering cottages located nearby, as well as a hotel in Fettercairn village.
Travel Note
All accommodation is self-catered bed and breakfast, with a kitchen. These will be stocked with ingredients to make a full Scottish breakfast, and other essentials, including tea, coffee, cereal, milk, juice, bread, butter and jam. There is also a hot drinks station with snacks in the Games Room at the Castle, which is available to all guests at all times. On Friday evening, we will be serving pizza and cocktails at the Castle, and we would love for you all to join us for a hog roast on Sunday afternoon, which will be served with Pimm's, beer and fizz. The nearest food shop is 2 miles away, so if you require any other food or drink, please do bring it with you. Along with your RSVP, please can you let us know whether you have any dietary requirements.
Rental Car
Popping the postcode (AB30 1TP) into the SatNav should get you there okay. However, more detailed directions are available below: From the A90, turn off the main road at the signpost for ‘Auchenblae’, onto ‘The Waters’ road. Follow this road for 2 miles until you arrive at the village of Auchenblae, then take a left, signposted as the ‘Cemetery’. Follow this road round and take a sharp right at the junction. Then follow the road for 3 miles until you pass St Palladius church on your right which is located next to the main entrance to Drumtochty Castle. Turning into the main entrance, follow the drive until you reach the Castle. You will be met here to check in and point you in the direction of your accommodation, where there is ample parking.
Train
The nearest train station is in Stonehaven (25 minutes drive away from the venue), which is on the main line for several train services that run from major stations in England. The nearest major stations are in Aberdeen (45 minutes drive) or Dundee (65 minutes drive). If you are planning to hire a car, we would recommend getting the train to either Dundee or Aberdeen. Alternatively, the more adventurous can take an overnight trip on the Caledonia Sleeper, which again stops at both Aberdeen and the closer town of Stonehaven, leaving London late in the evening and arriving into Stonehaven or Aberdeen early morning.
Flight
Aberdeen International Airport is the nearest airport to the venue, but flights are also available to Edinburgh Airport and even Dundee Airport. If flying, you would either need to get a taxi (we highly recommend pre-booking) or hire a car. Directions to the castle by taxi or car are available above.
