A Love That Grew Up With Us

We met at a lunch table in high school. It was Patton’s sophomore year and my freshman year. I instantly fell for Patton and tried giving him my number through the pocket of his hoodie. I never got a text from him, so I thought he just wasn’t interested. But you know what happened? He WASHED the hoodie WITH my number in it! I didn’t know that for a while. It was an early-release day, and I saw Patton and wanted to go say hi. We talked for a bit, and he thought he was slick asking for my number to “just hang out and fish.” That started the beginning of us. I fell in love instantly, and so did Patton. I remember a conversation we had almost a year after we started dating. He said, “How would you feel if I proposed right out of high school or when you are 18?” Obviously, I wanted nothing more than that. I knew from the first day I met him that he was my soulmate and my life partner. Life threw nothing but curveballs at us, but in the end, he still made that dream of ours come true. He proposed to me on 6/22/25 in Sigurd, UT—one of my favorite places to be with him. It was private and so perfect. Since then, we have moved into our first apartment and got our first dog together. We are now on our journey to forever, and we could not be happier!
