WE’RE GETTING MARRIED

Jazmine and Erik both attended UNC-Chapel Hill. GO HEELS!! During CTOPs orientation (freshman orientation) Erik was assigned to assist Jazmine with moving into her dormitory. Erik was immediately love struck and sparked up a conversation. Erik professed his interest and stated “Jazmine, you will be my girlfriend soon.” Jazmine laughed and thought he was crazy. Her mom was mortified to learn of someone making bold claims upon the first meeting. (Talk about making a great first impression lol) As the summer went on and freshman year began Erik set his sights on making Jazmine his girlfriend. He pursued Jazmine day in and day out. Jazmine was focused on cheerleading and academics mixed with a little portion of ‘playing hard to get’. As time went on, eventually Erik’s persistence, cunningness, and gentle soul grew on Jazmine. They bonded over their love for family, sports, and soul food cooking. The rest was history....

Erik’s 30th birthday was approaching and Jazmine wanted to plan an intimate surprise dinner with his family/friends. Jazmine travels for work so she had to rely on the party planner to pull off the biggest surprise of 2020. While Jazmine was planning what she hoped would be the biggest surprise for Erik, Erik was secretly planning the biggest surprise for Jazmine. Erik enlisted the help of Jazmine’s mom, aunts, and best friend for the surprise proposal. He ensured a photographer was in place and he even thought so much to remind her best friend into talking her into getting ‘white nails’. Luckily the event was an all black party so it wasn’t hard to convince Jazmine otherwise. Upon entry into Erik’s surprise party, Jazmine felt a huge sigh of relief knowing the cat was out of the bag. However as the night continued she had no clue what was in store for her. After dinner Erik made a toast and began his proposal speech. Jazmine’s best friend cue’d the proposal song “Best Part” by HER. Erik began to profess his love for Jazmine then proceeded to get down on one knee. He asked the four word question that every girl hopes to hear...Jazmine didn’t hesitate to say YES!! On a day that was meant to celebrate Erik, he turned it into celebrating the love he and Jazmine had created throughout the past decade.
