So it was a Friday, just 3 days until my birthday. It was a normal occurrence for me to spend the day in the salon, expect this time I was the client. David got my hair and nails done to take me out for my birthday. After a day of beauty I headed home to get dressed and ready for what I was sure was just dinner. He comes home asking what I felt like eating, like he had NO idea where we were going. Once in the car he suggested we stop at the bar he worked at when we first met. This bar was THE local karaoke spot, for everyone who loved karaoke while consuming good drinks. We sat there and went down memory lane while having a drink. Back in the car he asked me if I could remember where we went on our first birthday together, our birthdays are 5 days apart. By the time I came up with an answer, he was pulling into the parking lot. Following that was finally dinner time. As we got to dinner, I noticed the pattern, but still was not hip to where this was leading. I only assumed it was a cute birthday date night. This location was what HE considered our first date spot. After eating and arguing about where our first date was, we proceeded to the final spot. This happened to be Bruan Spring Park in downtown Hsv. This was the first time we spent time together, as friends. That night we sat at the waterfall wall laughing and playing 21 questions all the way to sunrise. That was on June 10, 2011, and here we were again on September 30, 2016. He held my hand, and was being his silly self. All I remember is bashfully looking away as I laughed at something he said and when I turned around he was on one knee! I was the most surprised I've ever been! I know that I should have seen this coming, HOWEVER, during 21 questions, I asked this man would he ever get married and his answer was, "If I ever meet the woman who makes me change my mind." His answer was so dry and discouraging, I had not even thought anymore about that happening without me bringing it up a few times first.
