Based off this title you would think we both met each other at college, fell in love and the rest was history right? Not exactly. We both attended DSU as freshmen and sophomores until Todd transferred, but little did we know, the love of our life lived just a few doors down from each other. But our love story doesn't begin here. June 14, 2019: Jazmin was on her way from Newark, DE to meet up with her friend Maxine to head down to the beach. Tuan, at that time was being soooo impatient and almost left Jazmin but she made it to them just before Tuan pulled off. Soon Jazmin arrived to the beach along with Maxine and Tuan and next to them, another car pulled up. In that car were John, Shak, and sir ToddyMac himself. Believe it or not, Jazmin and Todd actually did not speak to each other until well into the evening. It wasn't until Jazmin asked if Todd went to DSU that the 2 started talking. See, Jazmin just got a tattoo earlier that day and Todd had gotten one recently and a conversation about tattoos soon turned into hours worth of conversation. We did not know that that one night at the beach would be the start to our forever. If you have ever been around Todd and Jazmin when they go through the events of the night, then you know they have this ongoing battle about who "bagged" who but Todd knows Jazmin stole his heart from the first minute. The real secret is, Todd stole Jazmin's heart just as much as she stole his that night on the beach. After that night, we have been inseparable since. It would be almost 4 years until we became engaged. Over that time we have found out that while we both attended DSU, not only did we live in the same dorm but we were just a few doors down from one another! We say all the time that this was for sure a match made in heaven. These 4 years have been packed with love, laughter, tears, and many ups and downs but most important-growth. Our love for one another has been the one thing outside of God that has kept our relationship alive and every day we have grown stronger together. From playing basketball in Africa to attending and completing Physician Assistant school, we both have been each other's greatest supporters and have had a lot of fun on the way. On May 19th, 2023, 4 hours after Jazmin walked across the stage at her graduation, Todd surprised Jazmin with a proposal where he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife in front of all of their close friends and family and of course, without hesitation, Jazmin said YES!! Together in front of friends and family, we will become Mr. & Mrs.Todd Hughes Jr ❤️
