Groom’s Story: So Boom!! There I was on #RobinsHomeComingRoadTrip2018 with Joe, going to visit one of our favorite chapters (Rho Theta) at Prairie View A&M to celebrate. It was as packed as the Covid-19 Vaccine release date, so ya boy was chillin in the cut staying "hydrated". As I perused the landscape, there was an opening through the crowd, and a ray of sunshine peaked through the clouds shining directly on her. That’s when I saw the most beautiful woman at Homecoming! Now the opening only lasted for a split second, so by the time I stood up out of my seat she was lost in the crowd. Then I said to myself “if I were to see her again I would shoot my shot”. A few hours later as I'm mingling with some friends, I turn my head and there she was again...alone. With that same ray of sunshine beaming on her, I knew it was now or never. As I began to walk towards her going through several of my patented lines in my head to spark a conversation. By the time I reached her the only thing that came out was "Hello, what's your name" with a smile. SHE INSTANTLY MELTED!! She told me her name and I asked her "was she hungry"? At that point I knew I had her! We spent the remainder of homecoming together laughing and dancing. She pretty much begged me for my number the entire time but I refused lol. A few weeks later I made another trip to Houston where we had our first date, and from that night I knew she was the one! Bride’s Story: We met at Praire View A&M University Homecoming in Houston. My Best Friend and I happened to walk in the Omega section of the tailgate. Out of nowhere Steve walked up to me and asked me very politely what my name was and he smiled hard with his pretty teeth. He then asked me if I was hungry and wanted anything to eat or drink. Those who know me..knows my answer was yes! From that first hello he has never left my side. Literally lol! Now we are about to get married and I am so blessed to have met my soulmate.
It was the 4th of July and we just had our baby girl Sklyar. Steve wanted to do a small party for the 4th in Lake Charles for people to see Skylar. Well that was the story he told me. Some of my family came into town and friends came down as well. He stopped all of the dancing and talking for us to play our favorite game, “For the Culture”. Our moms were team captains and had to choose a team. I did NOT want Steve on my team, as he was a little tipsy by this time LOL. My mom picked him anyway. Well it was my turn to guess and before I knew it I was guessing Will You Marry Me! He actually had the developer create a category just for the proposal. I was so shocked and thought it was a joke when he got on one knee. I even did an ugly cry! That 4th of July was full of Fireworks!!
