We met through BUA, and looking back, we see God’s hand in every step. I felt led to apply, and Leo was the one who reached out to help me through the application and scholarship process. We first met during my tour of the school, and later our paths continued to cross through campus events and volunteering. Eventually, Leo became my supervisor when I joined as a work-study in his office. Through everyday conversations and working together, God slowly grew our friendship into something deeper, rooted in trust, respect, and shared faith. The proposal was a surprise planned with love and intention. My best friends (Olivia & Mauricio Fernandez) took me out while Leo prepared everything with my family. When I returned home, Leo met me with flowers and asked me to take a walk with him. He led me to a meaningful place by the lake, where he once asked me to be his girlfriend. There, he shared a heartfelt speech centered on our journey and God’s faithfulness, then got down on one knee and proposed. It was a beautiful moment surrounded by God’s goodness. Afterward, we were surprised with an engagement celebration with our closest family and friends. It was a reminder of how blessed we are to walk into marriage with love and support.
