HOW WE MET

03.01.2015

We met at Central Michigan University. Kyle lived in a house on Franklin Street, where I (Carley) moved in the following year by chance. We had always had mutual friends, but thankfully, Kyle had only moved a street away and was still friends with the neighbors! After class, we would always hang out outside, play yard games and sometimes study at Grawn Hall, where we were both business majors. After graduation, we both moved back to our hometown's, but quickly realized that living an hour and a half away was too far. After 2 years of dating, we moved to Detroit, MI and lived at Briggs Houze Apartments with our cat Louie. We loved the city and were always attending any sports event or concert we could! From there, we've traveled all over and have visited 7 different countries together. One of our favorite things to do together is travel. We bought our first house in Berkley, MI in 2018 and adopted another cat named Billy. In late 2020, we moved again to our current home in Beverly Hills, MI where we live with our two cats and our puppy named Briggs!

WILL YOU MARRY ME?

12.05.2020

On December 5th, 2020, Kyle had asked me if I wanted to go to the Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo with his brother Alex, and sister-in-law, Mackenzie. He said Alex had won tickets through work and they invited us to tag along! It was cold, so I decided to bundle up and truly had no idea where the night was taking us! Kyle and I had our friends over during the day and that completely threw me off. Alex called to tell us he was "running late" and they would meet us inside. Once we got inside, Kyle ran into an old friend that wanted to show us a new light exhibit at the Zoo. It wasn't until his "friend" walked us down an unlit path that I had a feeling something was up. As soon as we turned the corner, a sign lit up that said "Will you marry me?" He barely had time to get down on one knee before I said, YES!
