We met at a Music & Arts Festival, Electric Forest, on June 27th, 2018, in Rothbury, Michigan. Kinzi drove from Dallas, TX with her best friend Haley; Jayson drove from Durango to Denver then Denver to Rothbury with his brother Ace. Out of the 30,000 people there, and each having our own obstacles that came with such a long drive — we arrived at the same time which meant we would be spending the next 5 days camping next to each other. Our campsite was like a home base for us. It’s where we relaxed in between shows, ate food, got ready for the day, and slept. During these 5 days we became really good friends who genuinely wanted to just spend time hanging out. By sunrise on July 1st — neither one of us wanted to say goodbye. But alas, we had to go our separate ways. Two weeks later, Kinzi drove to Colorado for the first time to visit Jayson and she fell in love with Jayson and Colorado!
We were at our favorite vacation spot, surrounded by our closest friends. It was on a day that Kinzi was the most excited for, she was getting to see her favorite producer. Jayson had planned on proposing in between sets while at the show, but the morning he was planning on proposing there were some technical difficulties on the stage and the entire festival was delayed. After trying to figure out an alternative plan before the sun set, Jayson looked and saw that the "WAKAAN" sign was glowing from the sun setting behind it. He knew that was the spot. He gathered all of our friends for a group picture; as we all got situated, Jayson got down on one knee and asked Kinzi to be his wife forever. She said YES!! A thousand times yes.
