How did you meet?

Answer

We met in North Yonkers Congregation in summer of 2018. Alexandra was just reassigned to this congregation, and then shortly after, Jayson moved into New York from New Jersey, starting fresh in the same congregation. Alexandra thought: why is this guy so quiet?! And Jayson thought: why is this girl so loud?!. Well, within the first couple weeks they hung out in a group of friends for the first time and had a picnic at the Scenic Hudson Park. This is where an unusually comfortable, easy, and pure connection began!

Who liked who first?!

Answer

As their friendship began to grow, more and more people began to notice the connection between the two of them. But even so....both of them denied anything more than a great friendship! They spent a lot of time together in the months that came after the first hangout. Alexandra started to realize this could be so much more with the special connection they had, but she kept things to herself, waiting for Jayson to say something first. She prayed ALOT about it, came up with a time frame and patiently waited as the foundation of their friendship became stronger and stronger. Admittedly, Jayson had a lot going on in his mind as well. He liked her, (how could he not?!), but he wanted to take the time in his new congregation to grow. So he fought it and kept things in the friend zone as long as he could. BUT WAIT! Alexandra had a time frame remember?! The time limit she set before having to say something herself came, and guess what? HE said something!

What did he say?!

Answer

Jayson made clear that he felt our connection was so special and unique, felt similar to how I did, but wanted to stay friends. HOW ANTI-CLIMACTIC, RIGHT?! *rolls eyes*

What did Alexandra say back?!

Answer

Alexandra said: BYE. IM GOING TO ITALY. Just kidding, she understood why Jayson felt the way he did, but to protect herself, she let him know that she’d have to move on. That was really hard to say and do, he was so special to her. But she was determined! YOU GO GIRL! ....(and then she actually did go to Italy)

What was the turning point that got you two together?

Answer

Jayson would say: “Italy.” Alexandra was a content, happy person all on her own and that was attractive to him. He missed their friendship and realized his life was better with her as a major part of it. When Alexandra wasn’t there at the meeting those first few days she was away, Jayson realized what was in front of him all along and what he was losing. He wanted to “be with this girl and spend every day with her.” So he did what every girl dreams the man they like would do... HE did something about it! He sent her a message about how he was feeling and from that point on she was floating through Italy, and was so excited to come home and see if this was the real deal. (Spoiler alert: it was!)

How did Jayson propose?

Answer

According to Jayson, Alexandra is very difficult to surprise. Lol! He did a lot of behind the scenes planning! Alexandra asks a lot of questions and has a good intuition, so he came up with multiple plans that “could be it” to throw her off. Remember that park they hung out at when they first met? Well, one of the things Jayson planned was a double date picnic there. It was beautiful! It was a warm fall day, they ate lots of grapes and prosciutto. Jayson suggested they take some pictures as the sun was beginning to set. After a few pics, he pulled her away and said the most beautiful words. In part, “When we first hung out here, I knew I wanted you to be my friend, here we are at the same place more than 2 years later and I know I want you to be my wife.” Alexandra melted at that point. She started crying, snot flew out of her nose, and she turned around to see her mom, future mother-in-law, and best friend there to surprise her. He got down on one knee, and now they’re engaged!

Jayson, what are some things you love most about Alexandra?

Answer

“Her laughter and joy makes me feel like nothing else matters in that moment, she really can light up a room. She loves Jehovah so much and her relationship with Him is so real. I love her heart, she is so pure and honest, it makes me feel like I can talk to her about anything. From the beginning and through our relationship she has bluntly spoken her heart and it makes me a better man, I want to keep growing with her. She expresses herself so easily and freely in such a genuine way. I love her courage, she makes me feel like we can tackle it all together. Can’t wait to be with her forever. Oh and her eyes are beautiful and she’s really pretty.”

Alexandra, what are some things you love most about Jayson?

Answer

“There is SO MUCH more to Jayson than I ever could have thought. I never met someone who wants so bad to always learn, and be better and grow for Jehovah. That and his humility in our relationship is the most precious and unique thing I have ever seen in a man. He makes sure we never miss a family worship week or daily text. He is SO thoughtful. How he opened up with me and his communication is so unexpectedly impressive and it’s consistent. He always wants and asks me to say what I’m feeling or thinking. He actually listens, even when it’s something random I’m overly passionate about. He makes me feel completely safe emotionally. He is an example for me in his mildness and self-sacrificing attitude. He puts so much effort into making me feel loved and cared for. He is so supportive. I feel like he sees and respects me completely. As a witness of a Jehovah, a woman, a wife, a best friend. His dimples are ridiculous, and I think he’s the actual cutest thing in the world.”
