Chris had been doing stand up comedy for a handful of years before he saw Jayne step on stage for the first time at Goodnight's Comedy Club. After this moment, he knew he wanted to date her however, she unfortunately had a boyfriend at the time. So he let that dream go and packed up his life and moved to NYC. They both lived their lives for some time and then life aligned as Chris moved back to Raleigh right as Jayne was now single. Chris even joked with a friend that he was moving back to Raleigh and was going to make Jayne his girlfriend. After Chris persistently asked Jayne out and Jayne persistently deflected the attempts, Chris finally asked Jayne to play pool after work one Monday night as a last attempt and Jayne responded "honestly, yeah" and then they became inseparable from there on out.
