Micah and Jayna have known each other for nearly their entire lives. Their families visited one another in Louisiana and Oklahoma, creating lasting memories—visits to local zoos, picking berries, and making cobbler. Over time, however, these visits stopped as life got busier and distance grew. Though one of them harbored feelings for the other for quite some time, the timing was never right—until it finally was. One afternoon, while Jayna and her mom were having lunch, April and Laura were chatting on Snapchat. Yes, even the moms use Snapchat. During their conversation, Laura mentioned something about April, which led Jayna to ask, “Oh? Is Micah single?” What Jayna didn’t know was that her question set off a chain of events between the two moms. That evening, Micah and his mom ended up discussing the possibility of a relationship, and the next thing Jayna knew, Micah sent her a message. On December 31, 2023, Micah reached out with: “Hey stranger, heard you were talking about me.” They began talking regularly, but Jayna remained uncertain. She questioned how they could make a relationship work, especially with being 700 miles away from one another. At times, she pushed Micah away—some would even say she rejected him. Despite this, Micah didn’t give up. They both prayed earnestly, seeking guidance and wisdom from the Lord during this uncertain time. In February, Jayna’s family had a rare trip planned to Louisiana. Though they had been talking consistently, Jayna still had hesitations. However, the moment she saw Micah, she knew. The connection was undeniable. They spent the weekend enjoying time with family but the time that Micah and Jayna spent together was something so special. It was full of many laughs, drives that were full of good music and just enjoying being with each other, but it was also a time of genuine conversations. By the end of the weekend, they both agreed to see where a relationship could take them. A month later, during her Spring Break, Jayna made a trip to visit Micah. On March 16, 2024, they officially began their relationship. It wasn’t an easy journey—months of long-distance, adjusting to new changes, and moving Micah 700 miles away from home brought many challenges. But in the midst of it all there were many times of joy. There were visits that were full of laughing and just spending time together. Their love for one another grew beyond what they ever imagined. As the journeyed through long distance and they continued to visit each other, they knew that they wanted a future together. After a lot of prayer and seeking wise council, Micah moved 700 miles away to live in OKC with Jayna in hopes of potentially starting a future together. With the time they spent together and being with each other regularly, the certainty that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together became more and more evident. After spending just over two months in Oklahoma City, Micah proposed to Jayna on November 30th. He got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Their story is just beginning, and they are eager to see how God continues to reveal Himself in their lives. They are expecting and believing that the way that he has come through in the past year is just the beginning. They ask for prayers as they enter this next season together. Their hope is that the love they share reflects Christ’s love for the Church
