The Proposal!
Jasmine first noticed Jaylon back in 2012 at the skating rink when she was in 5th grade. While watching him glide across the floor skating backwards like it was nothing, she confidently told a friend, “He’s going to be my boyfriend one day.” Bold prediction for a 5th grader… but apparently she knew what she was talking about. Life didn’t move in a straight line after that. Jasmine moved back and forth between Florida and North Carolina, and the two went through all the normal changes that come with growing up. Then during their sophomore year of high school, they found each other again on social media. What started as a simple reconnection quickly turned into talking every single day and night. From that point on, they were inseparable. They truly grew up together. From cheering Jaylon on from the football sidelines, first love, and even taking Jaylon’s first plane ride together, they experienced so many of life’s “firsts” side by side. Even when college and life briefly pulled them in different directions, they both always knew they’d find their way back to each other. Over the years, their love story only grew bigger and better. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed their two amazing daughters, Jayla and Jaylee, who are the center of their world. Then came one of the most unforgettable moments of their story. At Jayla’s 2nd birthday party, which just so happened to be a Halloween party, Jaylon had a surprise planned. Surrounded by family, dressed in full costume (Jasmine as Glinda the Good Witch and Jaylon as Batman), he got down on one knee and asked Jasmine to marry him. Not many people can say they were proposed to by Batman… but Jasmine can! Jasmine couldn’t imagine a better partner, husband, or father for their girls. Jaylon loves his family fiercely, and it shows in everything he does. And Jaylon couldn’t imagine a more caring wife or devoted mother for their girls. Jasmine pours her whole heart into her family, filling their home with warmth, love, and laughter. They are the perfect team and it was the easiest yes she’s ever said!
