It all started in downtown LA, where a lot of friends meet for salsa night. Jaylin and Mariah both went out that evening just to have some fun. They didn’t notice each other at first, but very casually, at the end of the night, Jaylin asked Mariah if he could have her Instagram. She said, "sure." Neither of them thought much about it... but the second time they saw each other? Oh, Jaylin definitely noticed. Their official “hello” happened at a gala. Mariah was walking in, they walked toward each other, and with her big smile, Mariah said, “Hey, Jaylin!” All she noticed was this tall, 6’3” handsome guy coming her way. Jaylin, on the other hand, noticed a 5’2” little woman with a smile that lit up the room. “Hey,” he replied, already hoping to dance with her that night. There was just one problem: Mariah didn’t know how to salsa. Her skill level? A very humble “one-two step.” Jaylin, on the other hand, salsa-ed all night. He did way more than a one-two step. He even threw in a one-two and a dip, making Mariah wonder if she could keep up. Jaylin asked her to dance a couple times, but her excuse was that her feet were hurting (a totally believable story when wearing heels). By the end of the night, they somehow ended up among the last people hanging out with their friends, which gave them the perfect chance to talk. This was Jaylin's moment since Mariah didn't know how to dance salsa, he suggested she learn...but only if she learned with him. He invited her to a dance class, and from there, the conversation never really stopped. From the beginning, Mariah was the yapper, and Jaylin, the listener. Somewhere along the way, Jaylin became a yapper too. Now they’re still talking… only this time, they’re talking their way through life together💍 And that’s how a missed dance turned into a lifetime of love. Throughout their relationship, Jaylin and Mariah have seen Jehovah’s helping hand in many ways. They’ve felt His blessings during their dating phase and trust wholeheartedly that He will continue to guide them in the best way possible as they begin their marriage. Ecclesiastes 4:12 “And a threefold cord cannot quickly be torn apart.”
