My cousin Nyah is like the sister I never had. Growing up Dominican, cousins are basically siblings, and she’s been one of mine in every sense of the word. Loyal, loving, and always in my corner, she’s been there through it all. She sure knows how to bring the energy to any room she’s in! Just don’t expect to catch her without her dog, Pookie, glued to her hip. I’m beyond grateful to have her by my side on this day!

Manny is my older brother and my best man, with a tough exterior and a heart that shows its love in actions more than words. When he’s not playing dominoes, he’s spending time with his lovely wife and their twin children—who may or may not be running the show. Between family time and dominoes, he shows up for the people he loves. We’re lucky to have him leading the way!

Nicole has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, joining our family over a decade ago, she’s gotten a front-row seat to watch me grow into who I am today. I’m endlessly grateful for her love, guidance, and for the three amazing cousins she’s given me— feel more like my nieces and nephew. A talented hairstylist and an even better auntie, our family is better with her! I’m so lucky to have her by my side.

He’s always been a provider, not just in the material sense, but through his guidance, consistency, and example. Having him stand by my side on this day means more to me than words can say.

Natasha is ANOTHER cousin by blood but sisters by heart! We grew up inseparable—sleepovers almost every weekend, turning our rooms into dance floors with Destiny’s Child and Ciara as our soundtrack. Those memories still define our bond today and don’t fail to make me smile. Now she’s working toward becoming a nurse, Miss saving lives and somehow still makes time for her dog, who she absolutely adores. I wouldn’t have this day without her.

Jose is the brother I chose. Blood couldn’t make us any closer—if you see him, you see me. Almost 20 years of friendship and never once questioned. Loyal to the core, always in my corner, and absolutely the last person you want problems with. He rides for his people hard— especially when it comes to his kids, who are his whole world. When he’s not being a devoted father, he’s running the show in construction management, building things the same way he builds his life: with grit, responsibility, and no shortcuts. There was never a world where he wasn’t standing next to me on this day.

Ashley came into my life just over two years ago, but nothing fast-tracks a friendship like trauma bonding over a terrible job. She’s kind, funny, unapologetically herself, loves her two cats, and someone who shows up fully and fiercely for the people she loves. I wouldn’t want to do this without her.

El muelu!! Our friendship goes back over 20 years—long before careers, families, and adult responsibilities entered the chat. Known to many as El 23, Julian is a dentist by trade, currently holding it down in New York with his wife and kid. He’s a provider through and through, always putting his family first.
