We met in 2012 at Shughart Middle School — two wide-eyed sixth graders with no idea how much one simple class would change our lives. It was in “Creative Thinking” where our paths first crossed. One day randomly, we realized our birthdays were only a day apart — and somehow, that tiny detail made all the difference. From that moment on, we were inseparable. We were two souls growing up side by side, guided by timing, laughter, and something unspoken that’s been pulling us toward each other ever since.
We got engaged on New Year’s Day 2025 at the stroke of midnight! Our engagement took place in downtown Raleigh in front of the Capital building under the fireworks.
To commemorate the very detail that sparked our love story, our wedding rings primarily incorporate the gemstone opal. Opal is the birthstone for the month of October and signifies how we were truly made for each other by God, as our birthdays are on the 18th and 19th of that month.
