Our Love Story

Jayla grew up in Moses Lake, WA, with her mom Julie, and Grandparents, Bill and Jaime. She attended Moses Lake Christian Academy for all of her elementary years. After school hours her time was consumed by her love for dance at the Ballet Academy of Moses Lake. She then moved to Grand Junction, CO where she attended middle school and her first year of high school. She met some amazing friends along the way joining the Fruita Monument High School dance team and other fun extracurricular activities. Later on, she ended up moving back to her hometown of Moses Lake to attend Moses Lake High School where she met Brandon. Brandon was born and raised in Moses Lake, WA with his mom, dad, and sisters. He began football early in his life. He went to Chief Moses Middle School during his middle school years, and he attended Moses Lake High School where he pursued athletics in basketball and football. Brandon met his lifelong friends during these years and had lots of support from his family and his best friends. His love for family, friends, football, and fishing allowed him to grow as a young adult. Brandon and Jayla met when he was a Junior in high school and she was a freshman. It took them a while to realize that they were in love, but they were pretty much inseparable. Between taking drives together, stopping at the gas station for candy, and hanging out after school, they never stopped talking to each other. On July 8, 2019, Brandon asked Jayla to officially be his girlfriend, and that was just the beginning. Jayla graduated in 2020 and started college online due to the pandemic. In April of 2021, they moved in together in a tiny loft apartment. Then, Jayla decided to go to WSU to finish school. They both drove back and forth every weekend to see each other, and they probably spent more money on gas than Jayla did for school. She moved back after one semester and decided to pursue her schooling online with WGU for Elementary Education. Meanwhile, Brandon had been working very hard to keep up with bills and rent while also keeping their love alive. After growing out of the apartment, Brandon found a better-paying job and with a little help, they found a beautiful house to rent in February 2022. They adopted their dog Bella and their little family of three was all that they had ever wanted. Jayla and Brandon both worked and supported each other through all of the ups and downs of this crazy life. They grew in love and learned so many life lessons that they will forever cherish. During lots of their journey, it felt like the odds were against them, but they had an ongoing theme of pursuing each other even when they were doubted. With God's hand in the middle of their relationship, anything was possible. In November of 2023 Jayla and Brandon decided that they wanted to start traveling more. Their first stop was NEW YORK CITY! They discovered Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, lots of delicious Italian food, and a whole new perspective on life. Brandon found that it was time for him to promise his love to Jayla in their beautiful hotel in downtown New York. They are now ENGAGED, and Jayla and Brandon could not be happier. Jayla is still attending WGU for a future in teaching and Brandon has officially decided to attend the police academy. Without the help of family and friends Jayla and Brandon would not be where they are today. Life has its twists and turns, but it's not about what you go through, it's about if you make it to the other side. 1 Corinthians 13:13 "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
