Our story

Johnny and I met on Hinge, a dating app in April of 2023. After some teeth pulling, Johnny asked for my phone number. We scheduled a date at Goofy's in Spring Grove, PA. For those of you who know Goofy's, what a winner of a first date! We shared chicken tenders, fries, and beers. Apparently, the date went well enough that he paid and asked for a second date. Three dates in, and many conversations in about how we are tired of having our time wasted, I told Johnny we will get married one day. He thought I was crazy. A date or two later, I, in a drunken state, told Johnny I loved him. He DEFINITELY thought I was crazy; however, that did not stray him! In May 2023 during a weekend trip to Philadelphia to celebrate a friends' birthday, I again in a drunken state, forced Johnny to ask me to be his girlfriend. I obviously said yes. He had planned a really nice dinner date later in the week to ask me formally, but I had other intentions. Somewhere along the line after my forced love, Johnny also agreed he loved me back and saw us being together long term. He even said during a beach trip in August of 2023 that I would be "wifed up" by the end of 2025. Thanks to another close friend, Johnny bought a house towards the end of January 2024. He reluctantly asked me to move in with him. He had doubts about Mitchell and Luna. For about a year and a half of living together, in another Jayla fashion, I pestered Johnny about getting engaged. We finally went ring shopping in the fall of 2024. Come summer 2025, I knew the time was nearing. I could have sworn Johnny would propose to me during our trip to Hawaii with his family. Boy, did he get me! Sunday, July 6th, Johnny popped the question! Johnny planned everything out a few days before. With the help of some amazing friends, they helped setup everything and bait me in without a clue. That morning, I casually asked Johnny if I should do my nails. He said they were fine; they were not fine. I asked again more sternly, and followed up with "are you proposing today?" Johnny finally told me to fix up my nails. I did not actually believe I was getting proposed to that day. He played it off very well. We drove out to Codorus State Park to go boating with our friends. We did not go boating. Johnny and I went for a stroll to a more secluded part of the park where there were rose petals leading to white blankets lined with lanterns and yellow flowers. And now the rest is history!
