Fran and Jaye met four years ago while simultaneously on vacation in Nantucket. Fran having just moved back to Vermont after years in Boston, and Jaye living in New York City. Jaye was walking into the Chicken Box (undeniably the favorite bar on the island) when her best friend Steph yelled “OMG, IT’S FRAN!”. Jaye, having no idea who this was, asked very confusingly “Who’s Fran?!”. Minutes later, Steph introduced the two and the rest was history. Fran asked Jaye if she wanted to grab a drink and they quickly hit off. With drinks in hand, Fran said to Jaye “We’re going to have our first date…over there”, as he pointed to the corner of the bar. They headed off, and a quick get-to-know-each-other conversation quickly turned into something more serious. After that weekend, the two did not want to let distance get in the way of their connection. Hours were spent each evening facetiming and getting to know one other. Most nights (even during the work week), they would find themselves at 2am asking if the other was tired. The answer was always no. A month after meeting, Jaye’s childhood best friend was VERY conveniently getting married …in Vermont! Without any hesitation, Fran accepted his invitation to attend as her plus one. Jaye booked a last-minute flight to Burlington and the two had their first “date weekend”. It felt like they had known each other forever. After that weekend, there was no going back, and they both knew Burlington is where they needed to be.
