Kayla and Danny's love story began at Kayla's brother's wedding. Danny first saw her as she walked down the isle to stand with the bridesmaids. Danny immediately noticed how cute she was. They both went to the reception and coincidentally Danny caught the garter and Kayla caught the bouquet. After the wedding Danny and Kayla both went with the wedding party for dinner and then hung out at the honeymoon suite with the bride, groom and their friends. Danny and Kayla sat next to each other on a couch where they talked and played games late into the night. At the end of the night, as they were departing, Danny mention to his friends to "take care of her and make sure she gets some safe." This gesture left a lasting impression and Kayla decided to contact Danny the next day and from there they talked nonstop every single day.

After talking for three months, the couple met for dinner as Kayla was passing through West Virginia. This was the day that Danny asked Kayla to be his girlfriend and as luck would have it, she said yes. Throughout the relationship, Kayla has been his biggest supporter as he applied for medical school, was excepted, studied through medical school, graduated and began residency, and has been working through residency. She has supported him in the difficult times, encouraged him through all obstacles, and celebrated with him for all of the successful times. Daniel has been a huge support in Kayla's life journey and has been there for her in the happiest moments and comforting her in the saddest moments. He fills her days with laughter, encourages her when she feels like giving up, and has brought so much positivity into her world. He has showed her a meaningful, unconditional, and secure kind of love.

In May of 2022, along with Danny's father Kayla and Danny visited Sri Lanka and underwent a 3-day excursion throughout the country. During this trip, they visited the beautiful Hakgala Botanical Garden and on May 18 Danny asked Kayla to be his wife. Luckily for him, she said yes again.
