We’re Getting Married!!!

Seven years ago, a nurse and a respiratory therapist crossed paths. They shared a quick banter and a smile. From her perspective, she noticed his confidence, the way he explained things with clarity and purpose. DJ showed up completely exhausted, red-eyed from working multiple jobs and running his business… Yet, still determined to see her. Dinner turned into a movie. The movie turned into hours of conversation. And by the next morning, neither of them wanted the night to end. It never really did. Eventually they went on their first trip: Mexico. They made unforgettable memories from taking a catamaran cruise to experiencing food poisoning together the moment they landed back home. If you can survive that early in a relationship, you can survive anything. They still laugh about it to this day 😁. They soon came to realize how much they loved experiencing the world together, and this quickly became one of their favorite passtimes! From New York, to Paris, every city felt like another chapter of a love story they were writing together. But it was in a tiny boutique hotel in Sitges, Spain, they created their own dramatic and hilarious telenovela storyline from a show they barely understood. They laughed until they cried, and added that moment to the list of their "inside jokes" that only they could understand. But its beyond the jobs, the travel, and the kids that make their union special. Its actually a lot more simple than any of that. The secret is in being each other’s best friend, confidant, and greatest supporters. It's in their intimacy. How they share everything. How they uplift one another. How they listen with the intension to choose each other every single day. And in the quiet in-between moments, he still shows up with her favorite red roses in hand to trade for a smile, and she shows up as his peace to a long week of working and decision fatigue. Two simple gestures that have never stopped feeling extraordinary. On their anniversary week of 2025, DJ booked a weekend getaway to Chicago's beautiful St. Regis Hotel. The weekend was filled with friends, laughter, date nights, and long meaningful conversations. Back in their suite, they did what they do best: laugh uncontrollably together while watching one of their favorite comedy shows (The Office). As they relaxed, he asked softly, “Do you love me?” She smiled. “Of course I do.” “No,” he said gently. “I want you to say it.” She laughed and replied, “Jay, I love you.” And somehow, without her noticing, he pulled out a ring and said, “Well, marry me then!” Her jaw dropped. She was completely shocked. Even now, she still asks how he managed to hide the ring so seamlessly. There were no cameras. No crowd. No spectacle. Just love. Just laughter. Just them.
