It all started at work, I was on night shift at Seton Coastside, and Jay worked day shift in the Emergency Department. One morning, he dropped by the nurse's station to say hi, even though I was busy charting, the moment I saw him, everything suddenly felt like it was slow motion. At the time, we were all still wearing masks, so I didn't even know what he really looked like- but there was something about him that caught my attention. Months later, with the help of our sweet matchmaker, Ate Bessie, our paths crossed again. On July 30, 2022, Ate Bessie called Jay to come to the SNF, saying, "There's a nurse having palpitations." (Spoiler: that nurse was me.) When he arrived, she told us to exchange numbers. Jay said, "Okay, get my number," and I quickly replied, "Why would I get your number? You get mine!" I honestly thought he only saved it because everyone was watching- until I got a text from him later that day saying, "It was nice to finally meet you." And just like that, a funny little setup turned into something truly meant to be. And that's how it all began- with a little help from fate, laughter, and a lot of heart. That's when I finally understood what people mean when they say, "When you know, you know."
