Jay chose South of Nick's in San Clemente January 2016 for our first date, with more conversation at The Cellar. We dined on soup at a brightly lit "shabu" place on our second date. Not very romantic. (He has never lived this down LOL) Jay's true self showed through on our 3rd date, when he met and interacted with my special needs son, David. He emitted a warmth and caring very few men are capable of. On that day, I discovered a very important commonality: balancing caring for our same-aged special needs sons, with caring for our other 2 kids (seen below in a "dab"). I'm grateful our children brought us together. Jay is inherently reserved and shy. But spend time with him and his warm, sharp wit and full belly laugh fill the room with joy. He's calm under pressure. Hilarious when he's comfortable with you. Tolstoy would have called him a gentleman. Jay is truly a man of character. Not only would he give you the shirt off his back - he probably wore it knowing you'd need it at some point. I'm blessed to have found this kind of love late in life. Our kids brought us together. And I am the luckiest woman in the world for it.
