There are only 12 parking spaces at the venue and it's a twisty one-lane mountain road, so we very strongly encourage carpooling. Additionally, there will be a shuttle to and from the venue, leaving from a meet-up spot in Sierra Madre where you easily park. Please get in touch to arrange carpooling or get details on the time and place of pick-up and drop-offs. Details: Please park near Mount Wilson Trail Park, 165 E. Mira Monte Ave. Sierra Madre, CA 91024. You can also park down the street on Sturtevant Drive. The shuttle will pick everyone up at Mount Wilson Trail Park. There will be a shuttle at 4pm and one at 4:30pm. Call Jerry at: 864-436-2902 if you miss both shuttle times. There will also be two shuttle drop off times. The first shuttle will leave at 10:30pm the second shuttle will leave at 11:30pm after which I will personally drive anyone back to their cars when we all leave.
There will not be a shuttle from hotel or airbnbs, but we will have a shuttle service from the town of Sierra Madre up to the venue, and back again. We will also gladly help arrange carpooling and local drop-offs. And don't forget that you can also take a Lyft if you want to drink a lot.
If you received an invitation with just your name on it, yes we welcome a plus one. If you are Joe Foust that means a plus ONE!
We want you to party long and hard without worrying about what your kids are getting up to in the somewhat labyrinthine venue. We will be helping coordinate some offsite babysitting for a few out-of-towners, so please let us know if you are interested.
Wear whatever you will have fun in. But keep in mind that the weather will be quite warm in the afternoon but will get chilly at night. Bring a sweater, jacket, or shawl to keep warm later in the night.
The wedding will take place at the historic clubhouse of the international nature lovers' society "Nature Friends", which, based on it's vague mission statement and infrequent activities, may or may not be a cover for a world-wide money laundering scheme! The clubhouse, originally built in the 1920s, is located up a winding single lane road in the foothills of the Angeles National forest. The eclectic but charming spot features plenty of outdoor areas for our cocktail hour, ceremony, dinner, and late night bonfire, as well as a small building that contains a ballroom and a stage--perfect for dancing and a talent show. Unfortunately, parking on site is very limited.
