Megs and I first met at a bar in Cape Town called Love Thy Neighbour. We had mutual friends who introduced us, and after about eight tequilas, we realized we had a lot in common. We had an incredible time together, but Megs decided to head home that night without even a kiss. A month later, with some encouragement from her best friend Giorg, Megs invited me to their New Year’s party in Pearl Valley. Coincidentally, I was already staying there at the time, but I had plans to be in Cape Town for New Year’s. Still, something told me this girl was worth it, so I raced back to Paarl to spend the night with her. When I arrived at the party, I was greeted at the door not just by Megs, but by her entire family. Everyone wanted to know if I was her boyfriend. Well, everyone except her dad. He had just one question: "Can you play golf?" After countless chats and a few competitive games of pool, I finally went in for the New Year's kiss… well, almost. At midnight, Megs decided to call her sister instead but you get the idea. From there, it was a few dates, officially asking her to be my girlfriend, moving in together, traveling overseas, and now engaged and planning our dream wedding.
