Jay and I have been together for a little over 5 years, so I will give you the "short" version of our story: We met our freshman year of college at the University of North Dakota in 2016. Jay showed interest first, but I just wanted to be friends. Although, with his charming personality and huge, selfless heart, I couldn't stay away for long. We started dating on November 5th, 2016. Over these 5 and a half years, we have been through a lot as a couple. Jay ended up joining the Air National Guard in 2017, and later, I joined in 2019. We spent two big chunks of time away from each other for our basic training and technical school. Distance came with challenges, but it only seemed to strengthen our relationship. Then September 6th, 2020 came along, and Jay proposed. We were at my cabin, and Jay asked me to marry him in our boat out on the lake. Of course I said yes! In May of 2020, we got our first apartment together. Later that year, we adopted our beloved cat Gypsy. In June of this year, we will be starting a new adventure in Fargo, ND as I have accepted a new full-time position in the Air National Guard as a recruiter. We are saddened to leave our beautiful apartment and cozy life in Grand Forks, but we are ready to start something new. Over the past 5 years, we have grown as a couple, and could not be more excited to marry one another at the cabin. We couldn't think of a better place to come together with all of our friends and family. Jay and I can't wait to celebrate our special day with you!
