One thing about James? He’s the ultimate yes man. No matter what wild idea I’ve thrown his way or how ridiculous the plan seemed, he’s always been down. Need a wingman? He’s there. Man, he never learns. I’d destroy him in every game, and instead of quitting, he’d just say, “Alright, let’s run it back,” like he wasn’t getting absolutely wrecked. Through thick and thin, he’s been my ride-or-die, and I’m lucky to have him by my side today.

Jay I go way back—our sisters have been best friends for as long as I can remember, so we’ve practically been family our whole lives. Whether it was messing around as kids or supporting each other through the ups and downs of life, he’s been my go-to guy. Finding a neighbor like Sean is hard to come by especially living in Korea. From late-night laughs to cabbing back home at 5 a.m after one too many drinks, Sean turned regular nights into memories and small moments into stories we'll still laugh about. He's the kind of friend who feels like home, even when you're halfway across the world.

Julie has been my partner-in-crime since middle school and the little sister I never had. Our shared motto is “not not down” which means impulsive international trips, backpacking with zero experience, and living life to the fullest. I can’t forget to mention Julie’s big heart allowed Jay to become our 3rd roommate, creating J&J&J. I truly can’t imagine a life without her.

Anni and I met when I first moved to LA but it felt like we’ve known each other all our lives. Her sense of humor, competitive spirit, and equal love for Lion King instantly bonded us. Anni is the reason why I believe that it doesn’t matter the length of friendship, but rather the quality of friendship. I can’t wait for her to move back to DMV to grow old together.

Christina and I lived together in NYC during the pandemic and I knew she was someone truly special when she baked me a birthday cake using power tools. Christina is a real one and I continue to be inspired by her every year. She’s always one phone call away to help me with whatever I’m going through and I’m so lucky to have her in my life.

Hoangmai and I met in college and grew our friendship when we both moved to NY and worked at the same company. Some of my fondest memories were the days we’d block our work calendars to frolic around the city or hunt for the best naengmyun noodles. She is one of the smartest, funniest and trustworthy people I know and someone that I really look up to.

The first time I met Jenny, we saved each other in our phones as SOULMATE and we became roommates a few months later. Every trip, meal, and moment is nothing short of belly laughs and new adventure. She is truly one of the most caring & thoughtful people I know and I’m so blessed to have her in my life.

Katie and I first met during a high school leadership program where we somehow graduated as amateur k-pop dancers. And that marked the beginning of a long friendship full of experiencing our firsts together and laughing until our eyelashes fell out. She has this contagious energy coupled with her kind heart that lights up any room. I’m so fortunate to have spent more than half my life with her.
