We had a mutual friend that worked at the McDonalds around the corner from where he worked at the time (Baylie Carter - matron of honor). He would come in on his lunch break, and she would tell him "You HAVE to meet my friend." We were both confused as to why she was so persistent that we needed to meet. After several weeks to months of her saying this, he finally slid in my DMs. We met at a park to walk around and get to know each other, and the rest is history. We finally understood why Baylie was so insistent that we met because we just clicked and meshed so well, while bringing out the best in each other. Thanks, Baylie! ;)
We had rented a cabin in Branson for the weekend for Jay's birthday. His proposal idea was based on the show "Love Island" because we have been watching this show since the beginning of our relationship and may be a little obsessed with it. His plan was to send a text to one of our friends that read "Chelsea, please make your way down to the pool for your final recoupling," where he would be waiting with the ring. Just seconds before this was supposed to happen, I decided to crack a joke and pretended that I got a text that read, "Cabiners, tonight there will be a recoupling in which the boys will choose which girl they would like to couple up with. Any girl not chosen will be dumped from the cabin." Jay's heart fell to his stomach when I read this text because he thought that he had maybe sent the text to the wrong person or that someone had spilled the beans to me about the proposal. In reality, I was just cracking my own joke and still had no idea about the proposal. Our friend, Olivia, read the actual proposal text immediately after I made my joke. I thought that she was just continuing on with my joke, but she told me that she was serious and that I needed to go to the pool. I made my way to the pool where Jay was waiting with photos of us spread out throughout a trail of rose pedals and a gorgeous ring. He then proceeded to propose the way that Rocky proposed to Adrian because we have always found that scene hilarious. If this story doesn't show how much we are on the same wavelength, then I don't know what does!
