Hello, Detroit

The Wedding Website of Bryana Hall and John Sloan III
Hello, Detroit 💙 Here are some of our favorite places in the city where you can eat, drink, and sightsee during your stay in Motown!

Griot Music Lounge

66 East Forest Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201

We had our first informal "date" here, so having a drink here is good luck! The Griot is a small music lounge that features a live DJ and craft cocktails.

Motown Museum

2648 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48208

Hitsville USA! What more can we say? You can tour Berry Gordy's old apartment, sing a little "My Girl" in the famous Motown Records Studio A, and take in all kinds of rare Motown memorabilia. A must see for music lovers coming to the Motor City!

Cliff Bell's

2030 Park Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226

A particular favorite of the happy couple, and an iconic Detroit venue. This spot features live jazz almost every night of the week. It has a speakeasy vibe, a well-stocked bar, and delicious food for dinner and brunch.

Detroit Institute of Arts

5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202

The DIA is one of the premier art museums in the country. Check out the world-famous Rivera Court, a Diego Rivera mural that takes up an entire room!

Eastern Market

2810 Russell St, Detroit, MI 48207

The Eastern Market is the largest open-air market in the country! This is a great active sightseeing moment when you arrive in town, the Market is always bustling on a Saturday. We'd recommend getting a cab or rideshare if you go on a Saturday, parking can be tricky.

Ottava Via

1400 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI 48216

John proposed to Bryana here! Ottava Via is a great Italian restaurant, featuring a laid back, but bougie vibe, a great wine list, and a great pizza and pasta selection. Definitely get the bread service, you won't regret it!

Woodward Dream Cruise

One of the greatest displays of classic cars anywhere in the world! If you fancy a trip into the suburbs, you can park a lawn chair along Woodward Avenue anywhere in Birmingham, Royal Oak, Berkeley, or Ferndale and watch the cars roll by. Ask the bride & groom for recommended locations!

The Hudson Cafe

1241 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48226

Looking for a cute brunch spot? Look no further. The Hudson Cafe has delicious pancakes (Bryana is partial to a side of the Cinnabun pancakes herself), omelettes, and bennies. They also feature fresh squeezed juices, mimosas, specialty coffee, and meatless and gluten free options! We recommend making a reservation the day before you plan to visit.

Grey Ghost Detroit

47 Watson Street, Detroit, MI 48201

One of our absolute favorite restaurants in the city. They make a great burger, and also have good gluten free, nut free, and meatless options. The bar is also very well stocked, and the place has a smart casual vibe that's perfect for a night on the town.

Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History

315 East Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201

The Wright Museum is the venue for our larger party after the honeymoon! It features culturally rich and visually stunning exhibits. We absolutely love the Black excellence contained within those walls, and highly recommend a visit.

Greenfield Village

20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

A charming 19th century village that is brought to life by actors and authentic experiences. A must-see, along with the Henry Ford Museum, located on the premises.
