Jax and Chip met on June 8th, 2023 after matching on Tinder— Chip won Jax over by sending the first message and proceeding to lie about having read The Lord of the Rings (which he hadn’t). After messaging back and forth for a couple hours, Chip asked Jax to go out for drinks at The Comet in Northside (Cincinnati). Jax arrived early, as she lived within walking distance. Her first impression of Chip was seeing him trot eagerly across the street to meet his date for the first time… she found it hopelessly endearing. An hour into the first date, Chip asked Jax on date number 2 the following night— a drag show to meet his friends (‘Best Woman’ Kait Tabor). While watching the drag show, Chip slipped his arm around Jax’s waist and it was in that moment, roughly 24 hours after meeting for the first time, that Jax knew Chip would be her husband. The two have been attached at the hip from the moment they met (but like, in a cute interdependent way, not a clingy insecure way). Chip planned a trip, packed her a red dress, and proposed to Jax on January 20th at The Cleveland Arcade (but not before gifting her with a decoy-necklace to throw her off the trail)— She cried in the bathroom for getting her hopes up only to be given necklace instead of a ring— and then got the ring as well! On Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 (29 days later!!) Jax and Chip got married privately at the courthouse around the corner from their apartment; just a judge and two witnesses. They marched their asses straight to the nearest Applebee’s, shared an appetizer platter, and started the rest of their lives together. They are so hyped to finally get to celebrate their marriage officially, publicly, and formally among friends and family, almost a year later to the day!
