Antoine and JaVonna wish that they could say that it was "Love At First Sight." That's the fairytale right? Well, their tale didn't quite go that way. Their tale begins with Antoine always carrying gum while he worked into the late hours of the night. Ja'Vonna, after ending her shift at Blue Chicago, came in without fail and asked the stranger for a piece of gum. This was a constant for months on end. To her he was the "guy with the gum." She did not learn his name until a warm Memorial Day evening when JaVonna was attending a farewell party and Antoine bought and brought her a drink: A Moscato. He quickly learned she was a. Tequila gal. The rest as they say is history. Like all things, there were many ups and downs. Unfortunately for these two the downs outweighed the ups and they decided that they both needed to venture out separately. They remained close friends throughout all of it and it was the strength of their friendship that they knew that their bond was stronger than ever. Grief brings Sorrow. Comfort brings Strength. It was during these trying times that Antoine and JaVonna realized that they were stronger together than they were apart and the love that they had always had for each other was not only renewed, but Eternal. It was one chilly evening in November when Antoine made it official and proposed at the Humboldt Park boat house. A place that they always found joy in.
