Best Woman
This Best Woman has been by Brett’s side for over 14 years—my ride-or-die, my voice of reason, and sometimes my chaos partner. She’s a talented barber and cosmetologist with the hands of an artist and the heart of a healer. She loves all things mystical and witchy, and brings that magic into every room she walks into. I’m honored to have her standing with me the day I marry my other best friend.
Best Woman
Brittney and Javon have shared 13 years of unbreakable friendship since meeting in the Army at Fort Drum. She’s an incredible mother to my 3 beautiful Godchildren, a fiercely talented and passionate soul, and the person who has stood by me through many dark moments and many victories. Even as she serves proudly in the Army as a Sergeant First Class miles away, our bond has never changed—she’s my best friend and someone I can always count on.
Groomswoman
Taylor, my groomsmaid and sister, is a dark-souled, cat-loving force of nature. She’s vibrant, unapologetically herself, and brings a spark of mystery everywhere she goes. She makes this day feel a whole lot cooler just by showing up.
Groomswoman
Kathleen, my groomsmaid and sister, is the sunshine of our family—always glowing, always golden, and always herself. She has a huge heart, the kind that shows in everything she does, especially in her work as a health care professional. I’m grateful to have her bright, loving spirit standing with us.
Groomswoman
Keirston, my groomsmaid, has always been more than family—she’s been a true friend for as long as I can remember. I’ve known her my whole life, and she’s kept me on my toes through everything—from our wild parties in our early 20s to watching her become an amazing mom to Isla and Cooper. I’m honored to have her here with me.
Groomswoman
Emily, my Groomsmaid and sister. The baby of the bunch but wise beyond her years—beautiful, bubbly, smart, and wonderfully whimsical. She cares deeply and proudly wears her heart on her sleeve. Now in her “college girl” era, she’s forging her own path to greatness, and I can’t wait to see what she brings into the world in the years ahead.
Groomswoman
Kathy, my groomsmaid, has been a steady part of my life for as long as I can remember. She loves golf, hates bullshit, and has the biggest soft spot for animals. She’s an incredible partner to my Aunt Rochelle and has always been there for me—even in the moments I didn’t realize how much I needed her. I’m grateful to have her standing with me.
Groomswoman
Annie, my groomsmaid, has always been my bad-decision buddy—the one who somehow makes my crazy ideas make sense. She’s known who I was long before I ever figured it out myself, and she’s been a constant, grounding presence through every messy, hilarious, unforgettable moment. She loves animals as much as I do, tanning as much as I would aspire to and indulges my crazy. I’m lucky to have her here with me.
Groomsman
Jonathan, my Groomsman and best friend. We met at Ft. Drum through an LGBTQ Soldiers’ support group and quickly became friends, later roommates when we moved back to Florida after active duty. Jonathan has been my rock and a crucial part of my support system as I navigated life after the Army. Even as he pursues his dreams of traveling the world, our friendship remains solid and grounding. I’m grateful to have him standing with me.
Mother of the Groom
Debra—‘Debbie’—my mother, is a devoted healthcare professional who lives every day for her children. She gives endlessly, shows up without hesitation, and has never failed me—not once. She’s the definition of grace, strength, and warmth… and she always wears the best fragrances while doing it.
Mother of the Groom
Deon, my mother. My first home, my greatest teacher, and the steady source of love and strength that has shaped my entire life. She is the unwavering force behind everything her children are—resilient, selfless, and endlessly loving. Her strength has shaped me, her sacrifices have lifted me, and her heart continues to guide me every day.
Officiant
Rochelle (Auntie shell), our officiant and my aunt, has always been closer to me than most friends ever could be. She’s been in my corner my whole life—lifting me up, grounding me, and reminding me of what really matters. She loves her cats and pup, the woods and the mountains, and all the small, simple joys (especially gift shops). Having her guide this moment means more to me than she’ll ever know.
