AlmerĂa is a coastal city in southern Spain. The closest airport is AlmerĂa (LEI), but you can also fly into Málaga, Granada, or Madrid and take a train, bus, or car from there. Please see the travel section for some sample itineraries if you want to make your trip longer!
U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days in Spain. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
Expect warm, sunny days and cooler evenings—perfect for celebrating! Check the forecast closer to your departure.
Spanish is the primary language, but many people in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas speak at least some English. That said, a few key phrases in Spanish go a long way!
Spanish weddings are often a bit more formal, so we suggest elegant cocktail attire.
Yes! We will have buses from central AlmerĂa to the wedding venue (about 30 minutes away), and back again after the celebration. Details on pick-up times and locations will be shared closer to the date.
We recommend being at the bus pick-up location on time, as the ceremony will start shortly after arrival at the venue.
The ceremony will be bilingual, so everyone can follow along and enjoy.
Yes! We’re hosting a casual meet-up for drinks and tapas the night before the wedding. See the “Welcome Tapas” section for more details.
The wedding will follow a traditional Spanish format: a ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour, a multi-course lunch, another cocktail-style break, and finally, dancing into the night!
Please let us know in your RSVP if you have any dietary needs, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Spain uses the euro (€). Most places accept credit cards, but it’s a good idea to carry a bit of cash for small purchases or tips.
Yes. Spain uses Type C or F plugs, and the voltage is 230V. You’ll need a power adapter and possibly a voltage converter for certain electronics.
Yes, tap water in AlmerĂa is safe to drink.
You won't need a car for the wedding itself or getting around AlmerĂa city. We're providing transportation to and from the venue on the wedding day, and within the city, taxis are readily available. While Uber has limited availability in AlmerĂa, you can easily use Cabify as an alternative ride-sharing option. However, if you're planning to explore other destinations in Andalusia or take a road trip during your stay, renting a car would be a great option. Just keep in mind that you'll need an International Driving Permit along with your regular driver's license to rent and drive a car in Spain.
