After meeting in passing at a concert in college, Jason and Kelly bumped into each other again a year later later playing intramural soccer at LSU. After their last game, Jason asked Kelly on a date, and they have been inseparable ever since.

In the whirlwind of Jason finishing his masters program and preparing to move to College Station, Kelly was focused on finalizing the details of their move and booking the vacation they planned to take after they got to Texas. Jason had her believing that he was going to propose to her on their trip. The weekend before they left, their friends Tyler and Paige invited them to New Orleans for a going away dinner and fun evening in the city. After dinner at Copper Vine, they went to The Eliza Jane Hotel to socialize some more [or so Kelly thought]. As they were exploring the bar area, they "stumbled" upon a beautiful courtyard. Kelly walked all the way to the back of the courtyard to a fountain, and when she turned around, Jason grabbed her hands and asked for her to marry him. Kelly was a puddle of tears. [She was so shocked she forgot to actually look at the ring!]. As Jason got up, they heard someone scream. They looked back and saw some of their closest friends and family watching and ready to celebrate.
