Things To Do Around Portland

There are a lot of great outdoor activities. Portland has a lot of neighborhood parks and bigger ones like Forest Park, Hoyt Arboretum, Washington Park, and Mt. Tabor. There are many swimming spots close to Portland. The Swim Dock at Cathedral Park in St. Johns is nice and easy to get to. If you have a car, Oxbow Park on the Sandy River is our favorite. The gorge, has many beautiful hikes within a 30 min-1 hour drive of Portland. In particular, we recommend Eagle Creek to Punch Bowl Falls. If you have more time, it's an easy day trip to Hood River, Mt. Hood, or to the coast! If you haven't been to the Oregon Coast it's beautiful- it's chilly year-round, so maybe bring a sweatshirt instead of a bathing suit. Portland has a lot of cute neighborhoods with shops and food- we love and live in North Portland by Alberta Arts District, Williams, and Mississippi Ave. We also recommend Kerns, Hawthorne, and Division neighborhoods.
