We met at Friends Church Orange, where Jason had just joined the staff as the tech guy and Tori was serving as the NextGen Worship Pastor at Friends Church Yorba Linda. After a year of friendship, we attempted to go on our first date—though one of us (Tori) thought it was a work meeting (and even canceled once). When Jason finally asked the question, “Do you know why we’re hanging out?”, it became clear Tori had completely missed that it was a date. Oops. Our first official date happened over boba on April 22, 2024, and from there everything clicked. Through comedy shows, long days exploring LA, late-night conversations, hikes in San Diego, and endless laughter, we quickly realized how easy life felt together. On June 1, 2024, we officially became a couple—and the rest quickly became our story. The next year and a half flew by as we spent time with family, learned how to work together while serving at Friends Orange, planned Christmas and Easter services, laughed way too hard, and grew—both individually and together—into some of the best versions of ourselves. Jesus most definitely knew what He was doing when He brought us together. On October 17, 2025, during a date night in San Diego that included a very convincing fake Jon Foreman concert, we took a walk along Coronado Beach at sunset. There, Jason got down on one knee and asked Tori to marry him. Tori said yes (duh! how could I not, he's the best person ever)—and now we can’t wait to begin this next chapter together, surrounded by the people we love most. :)
