Barn Bluff is my favorite hiking trail in the area. It is located along side the Mississippi River and over looks Red Wing. This was the first place I took Jason when he visited Minnesota for the first time. We both love this hike because of the scenery at the top of the bluff and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great activity to do with a beautiful view.
Memorial Park is a beautiful scenic lookout. You can drive up to get one of the best views of Red Wing. Once you are on top you can enjoy the view, adventure down walking trails, have a picnic, or play a game of disc golf on the 9-hole course.
Bay Point Park is located along the Mississippi River and next to downtown Red Wing. This park holds a special place in my heart because our family's boat has been docked at the marina connected to the park for most of my life. I love Bay Point because of all of the memories spent playing on the playground with my brother, walking on the parks walking path with friends, and attending the annual River City Day's event held every summer.
Kelly's Tap House Bar and Grill is by far our go to for food in Red Wing. Kelly's offers a diverse menu and is known for their broasted chicken, burgers, and pizza. Our personal favorite are the salads. Many times when we are in town we love getting our meal to go and enjoying it in one of Red Wing's park. However Kelly's outside patio is a great place to be seated with the overview of the Red Wing's Marina and the Mississippi River. If you go when the sun is setting you will get a beautiful sunset while enjoying your meal!
Hanisch Bakery is not only the best bakery in town, but one of the best in the state! They offer a variety of different baked goods from donuts, cakes, homemade breads, and cookies. Hanisch Bakery is located in downtown Red Wing. I highly recommend stopping by to try one of their tasty treats!
