Is there a hotel block?

Answer

We’ve arranged a courtesy discount at the Best Western in Kingston for our wedding guests. To receive the special rate, mention the "Risley Whitcomb Wedding" when calling 845-338-0400, or use the link provided in the Hotel & Travel section of our website. Note: The Chateau Venue and the Best Western Hotel are approximately 7 minutes (2 miles) apart by car. The Best Western is where the bride and groom will be staying, and it’s the only nearby hotel offering a discount. That said, other lodging options may be available at a lower rate. For additional accommodations, including budget-friendly alternatives, please visit the Hotel & Travel section on our website.

Do you have any attire suggestions for guests?

Answer

This is a semi-formal to formal event. While the ceremony and reception will be held indoors, please note that it's late October in the beautiful Catskill Mountain region, where the weather can be unpredictable. We recommend dressing accordingly and bringing an extra layer in case it’s chilly when outdoors or between venues.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Will the ceremony and reception be at the same location? If not, how far apart are they?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided. The church and reception hall are about a 22-minute drive apart. However, ride services like Uber, Lyft, and local taxis are readily available near both venues. These transportation providers have been informed about the event and will be on standby to assist you if needed.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to ensure everyone is seated before the ceremony begins.

Will there be food and drinks? What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be serving dinner, dessert, and offering an open bar — so come hungry and ready to toast with us! If you have any dietary restrictions, just let us know when you RSVP and we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.

Are children allowed?

Answer

We’re so grateful to have your love and support as we celebrate this special day. To help keep things intimate and relaxed, we kindly ask that our wedding be an adults-only event. The only exceptions are children in the ceremony and those whose parents are in the wedding party. We truly appreciate your understanding and know this may take extra planning. If you have any questions or need help arranging childcare, please feel free to reach out directly to the Bride or Groom— we’re happy to help.

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, if you’d like to contribute, we’re registered at Amazon and Walmart. You can access both registries through our wedding website on Zola.com.

Can I make song requests to the DJ?

Answer

Our DJ will be focused on creating a great atmosphere and helping everyone have a fantastic time. If you’d like to request a song, feel free to approach, but otherwise, please allow the DJ to work their magic and keep the party flowing smoothly.

Can I crash the wedding… asking for a friend whose invitation was stolen by squirrels?

Answer

Well, there’s plenty of seating at the church — come for the vows, stay for the love! As for the reception, you might want to bring your own chair and a sandwich too… unless, of course, you know the secret handshake. (If not, blame the squirrels — they’ve been intercepting invites.) Just kidding (kind of)! We’re keeping it small and sweet, so thanks so much for understanding!
