FAQs

The Wedding Website of Mikaila Hardman and Jason Lopez
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

All wedding events will take place at Chalet View Lodge — a beautiful mountain resort in Graeagle, California. Please note that Chalet View Lodge is in a remote area of the Sierra Nevada mountains (about 1 hour from Reno-Tahoe International Airport), so we recommend planning your travel and accommodations early!

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We’re asking for an elevated, more formal look for the ceremony and reception — but not full black-tie. Think polished, celebratory, and dressed up for a Saturday evening in the mountains. Here's a bit more about what means to us: For Women: Floor-length gowns, midi dresses, elegant cocktail dresses, or a dressy jumpsuit are all perfect choices. For Men: A suit or a dress shirt with slacks works great — and feel free to skip the jacket and tie! We want you to feel polished and comfortable. Other Considerations: Feel free to have fun with color and style — we just ask that white be reserved for the bride. Mountain evenings can get chilly even after warm days, so we recommend bringing a jacket or wrap. If you’re staying onsite, your room will be just steps away in case you need an extra layer.

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome dinner?

Answer

If you are attending Friday's welcome dinner, casual attire is perfect — sundresses, shorts, jeans, sandals, or whatever you would wear to a relaxed BBQ. No need to dress up, just bring your festive spirit (and maybe a layer for when the sun goes down).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We adore your little ones! However, for all wedding events, we’re keeping the celebration adults-only (21+). Think of it as a well-deserved weekend off — a chance to relax, eat, dance, and celebrate with us without a care in the world. To ensure there’s space for all invited guests, we kindly ask that kids not stay at the resort.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We wish we could invite everyone, but due to space limitations, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If your invite includes a guest, you’ll see their name on your envelope and RSVP. If not, we kindly ask that you join us solo — we promise you’ll have plenty of people to celebrate with!

Question

Do I have to stay onsite at Chalet View Lodge?

Answer

No! While we’d love for everyone to stay onsite to make the most of the weekend festivities, you’re welcome to book any nearby accommodations that best suit your plans. We’ll share a few local recommendations on our Travel & Lodging page for your convenience. Important: Please note that Chalet View Lodge is quite remote, and Uber/Lyft do not operate in the area. If you plan to enjoy the open bar, please arrange transportation in advance or plan to stay onsite for everyone’s safety and convenience.

Question

Do I have to attend all the events?

Answer

Not at all! While we’d love to celebrate with you all weekend, we completely understand if you can’t make it to everything. Please be sure to RSVP for the events you can attend so we can plan accordingly — we’ll just be so happy to see you!

Question

What is there to do in the area?

Answer

Please visit the “Things to Do” tab for local dining spots and activities. If you’re planning to dine out, we highly recommend making reservations well in advance — 4th of July weekend is a very busy time in Graeagle, and many restaurants book up quickly.

Question

Are there any wedding events on Saturday before the ceremony?

Answer

No — Saturday is intentionally a free day before the ceremony begins around 6:00 pm. Visit the "Things to Do" page for ideas. A few suggestions are to enjoy local 4th of July celebrations in Graeagle, go hiking, biking, or golfing, explore nearby towns, or take a day trip to Truckee or North Lake Tahoe for lake views, shopping, and outdoor adventures. Just be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you plan to enjoy golf or dining locally!

Question

What food and snacks are available on-site at Chalet View Lodge?

Answer

Chalet View offers a few on-site options, including a brewery with small bites like pizzas and pretzels, plus a petite on-site coffee shop that serves Starbucks coffee, along with pastries and light breakfast options — perfect for a quick bite or caffeine fix. Please note: the brewery will open early at 12:00 pm on our wedding day, but otherwise typically opens at 4:00 PM.
