Yay!! We're thrilled you can make it. Please RSVP via our website. Or, reach out to us directly to let us know you will be there--the sooner the better! If we haven't heard from you by the RSVP deadline of June 15th, you'll get a text from us.
Guests are limited to those specifically named on your invitation (or the RSVP section of the website). If you have any questions about who is invited, please feel free to ask Meri or Jason.
Both! The entire 13-acre private property is ours to enjoy for the day. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held in a secluded mountain meadow with stunning views of Mount Copeland. Clear umbrellas will be provided in the case of light afternoon showers. Cocktail hour will take place just outside the main lodge on the wraparound deck and outdoor amphitheater overlooking the St. Vrain River. Heaters will be available on the deck, if needed. Parents of young children, a friendly heads up: this is an open water location. Dinner will be served inside with dancing, dessert, and conversation to immediately follow both indoors and out. We love the peaceful beauty of Wild Basin and hope our guests will as well!
Summer in the Rocky Mountains is beautiful! Pleasantly warm, sunny days and cool nights are the norm. Keep in mind, a sudden rain shower or temperature swing is not uncommon in the mountains. Consider sunscreen, a sun hat, and/or sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony and a light jacket or wrap once the sun sets. We want you to be comfortable! Lastly, please be aware of the altitude. The lodge is located at an elevation of approximately 8,083 feet above sea level. Drink plenty of water! Proper hydration will help ensure an enjoyable wedding weekend in the mountains.
The theme is “garden party chic” with a mountain semi-formal dress code. Colorful florals and earthy textures are encouraged. Avoid black. More details are provided on the schedule tab of the website, but we mostly ask that you come dressed to celebrate and be comfortable! Choose footwear appropriate for walking along uneven surfaces including grass, gravel, dirt, and stone.
Probably not. Expect unreliable and/or non-existent cell service at best. You'll want to plan ahead and know where you are going. Once you reach Wild Basin Lodge, guest Wi-Fi is available.
Yes! Plenty of free parking is available in the lot directly across from the venue. Cars may be left overnight if picked up by 10am the next day.
Guests are responsible for their own travel to and from the venue. The ceremony and reception will both be at the same location and will not require travel in between. Rideshare services are not available, so please plan to safely drive yourselves or carpool with other guests.
Wild Basin Lodge is located 20 minutes south of Estes Park near the Long's Peak trailhead (next to the Wild Basin entrance station to Rocky Mtn National Park). Drive south from Estes or northwest from Lyons on Hwy 7 (the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway). Look for Wild Basin Area signage. From ESTES PARK: Take US Hwy 34 until it intersects with Hwy 36 (near the McDonald's). Turn to go east on Hwy 36 for approx 0.4 miles; then keep right onto CO Hwy 7. Continue south on CO Hwy 7 for 13.5 miles. Turn right (west) at County Road 84 (Wild Basin Road). From LYONS: Head northwest on Hwy 7 for 21 miles, winding through Allenspark. Turn left (west) at Cty Rd 84 (Wild Basin Road). Wild Basin Lodge is 1/2 mile down the road just before the Wild Basin entrance station. The venue is on the left; parking is on the right.
When you arrive at the lodge around 3:30pm, you'll be greeted by Wild Basin staff who will welcome you and show you the restrooms and water station before the wedding begins. They will direct you to the short walking path that leads directly to the "Meadow Peak" ceremony site. Alternatively, you can drive directly to the site if needed. Again, Wild Basin staff will be happy to assist you once you arrive at the main lodge. Please reach out and let us know if you have any accessibility concerns!
Of course! You may note any dietary restrictions when you submit your online RSVP. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. Appetizers served during cocktail hour will be gluten-free. Dinner will be specially prepared and individually plated (with advance request) for our guests with gluten sensitivities/allergies. Dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan meals are also available by request. Our venue does require that all special requests be submitted in advance. Please let us know of any needs prior to the RSVP deadline of June 15th. A variety of dessert options will be available and labeled with ingredients and common allergens identified.
An indoor bar will be open with selected beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages available until 9:30pm. A specialty bar featuring an interactive margarita experience will be hosted outside during cocktail hour and again during dessert and dancing. Dinner will include a champagne (or sparkling cider) toast.
Maybe? You should definitely come just to find out! The outdoor cocktail deck is always an option for those who'd rather admire Meri's moves than participate themselves. ;) *EDITED BY MERI: YES, I WILL SEND YOU HOME. GET YOUR BOOTY ON THE DANCE FLOOR*
The party will conclude at 10pm. Meri and Jason plan to make their grand exit around 9:30pm. We hope you'll stay to send them off in style!
