FAQs

Question

Where do I go?

Answer

We’ve included an annotated map! The red box indicates where the ceremony and reception will take place and the blue boxes indicate available parking lots. Parking is first come, first served. The yellow arrow indicates the entrance. The ceremony will take place at Blackberry Meadow, and the reception in the adjacent Blackberry Hall

Question

What do I wear to this thing?

Answer

Dressy Casual! Keep in mind that the ceremony will be outside, on grass, and in direct sunlight due to venue restrictions. Don’t worry, the ceremony won’t be that long, Matika hates sweating too.

Question

What time do I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 pm. Please arrive no later than 4:30 pm to find your seat and parking. We kindly request no late entry to the ceremony.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

At the reception? Sure! Go hog wild. At the ceremony we kindly request that you leave all cell phones or cameras in your pocket or purse. We hired an excellent team of photographers to capture the moment, so sit back and enjoy!

Question

What are the site conditions like?

Answer

The ceremony will be taking place in a meadow outside. Allegedly mid-September in Oregon is dry and warmer. Plan for direct sunlight during the ceremony, as we are unable to put up a tent/shade due to venue restrictions. We are also unable to place a carpet or runner on the grass so plan footwear accordingly!

Question

What's the accessibility like?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception are in venues that are ADA accessible, with ADA accessible bathrooms. Please advise of any specific accessibility concerns ASAP so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Have you thought about reserving a parking lot?

Answer

We have, and unfortunately we are unable to reserve specific parking at the Edgefield facility, but you can feel free to park anywhere on the property. There is a small lot near Blackberry Hall which is first come first served.

Question

What's the plan for inclement weather?

Answer

In case of inclement weather the ceremony will be taking place in the reception space- the adjacent Blackberry Hall

Question

Are you going to feed me?

Answer

Obviously. There will be a dinner buffet provided. Please advise of any dietary restrictions ASAP! We may not be able to accommodate substitutions requested after July 15, 2025. Please also note that no outside food is permitted per the venue.

Question

Where do we stay?

Answer

Wherever you want! However, we have reserved a block of rooms for our wedding at the McMenamins Edgefield property for both the night before and night of the wedding for any guests who wish to stay on the property. Please note that many of these rooms are “European style” with shared hall bathrooms due to the historic nature of the building. Please reference the Levy/Shambaugh wedding when contacting McMenamins. If you prefer a more traditional hotel we have also reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western Troutdale less than a mile away from the venue. Please reference the Levy/Shambaugh wedding when reserving to receive the wedding block discount.

Question

Are my kids allowed to come?

Answer

Yes! Please advise us of the number and ages of children in your party. Please be advised that the bride likes to swear.

Question

Can I bring my friend/neighbor/suitor with me?

Answer

As much as we love being surrounded by family, friends, and well wishers, we kindly ask that only the people listed on the invitation attend.

For all the days along the way
